Reflexology

Reflexology

Reflexology is a relaxing treatment that reduces tension, helps promote sleep and wellbeing by promoting natural balance within the body.

Pressure is applied to the feet using specific thumb, finger and hand techniques.

It is based on the theory that different points on the feet correspond with different areas of the body.

The art of reflexology dates back to ancient China but the form we know today was developed by Eunice Ingham in the 1930's.

Cupping

Cupping

This treatment forms part of Traditional Chinese Medicine and uses glass, plastic or silicone cups to create a vacuum encouraging blood flow to the area.  Cupping has been made popular by celebrities and sports stars in recent years and is a great treatment to focus on a particular area to relax the tissues.  Circular marks can be left on the skin for up to a couple of weeks after a treatment but this is nothing to worry about and the marks will gradually fade.

Acupuncture Close Up

Acupuncture

Acupuncture is a treatment derived from ancient Chinese Medicine where fine needles are inserted into specific areas of the body for therapeutic and preventative purposes.
The Chinese system is all about creating balance in the body using your own Qi (pronounced Chee).  Where this energy is out of balance, it makes us more susceptible to disharmony and even illness so, to put the body back in balance will create harmony.
Acupuncture can be used to help a variety of conditions from chronic pain in muscles and joints to menopause symptoms, migraines, skin conditions, emotional issues...the list goes on.
