My recipe for a homemade spa day

Updated: May 12, 2020

It's January, our bank balances look a little sick and our skin is crying out for some TLC after the festive season. Why not get the girls over and create your own spa day?

What you need

1) Foot spa (or washing up bowl)

2) Face mask (no need for expensive designer gold/charcoal varieties, why not raid the kitchen cupboards)

3) Nail polish - we've all got some lurking in the back of a drawer

4) Food, laughter, films etc etc - the rest is up to you

Method

Fill the foot spa/bowl with warm water and bath salts. Sit with your feet in for 5 minutes and dry thoroughly. Pop some moisturiser cream on and cover with cotton socks or wrap your feet in a towel to help that moisturiser sink in and leave your feet feeling fabulous.

I love adding a drop or two of peppermint oil to moisturiser cream for a tingly fresh feeling.

If you have any chick pea (gram) flour in the cupboard, this makes a fantastic face mask. Just mix it into a paste with water and smother it on your face. Add the obligatory cucumber slices to your eyes (or cold tea bags), sit back and relax.

You could add a little turmeric and/or lemon juice to the mask to help boost circulation and close pores.

Gently remove the mask with warm water. Massage in a little facial oil or your favourite moisturiser and keep your face makeup free for as long as you can.

If you'd like to make your spa day event even more special, I'd be happy to speak to you about group bookings which could include one of the following treatments each:

Seated back, neck and shoulder massage

Foot massage

Hand and arm massage

Face and scalp massage

Let me know how your spa day goes and enjoy x
